Kasubi Tombs & Buganda Royal Palace
Stand inside the vast thatched rotunda of Kasubi, where four Buganda kabakas are interred beneath coils of bark cloth and royal spears. Next door at the Lubiri Palace, costumed attendants explain the clan system that still governs Buganda social life today.
Batwa Cultural Trail, Bwindi
The Batwa, the forest's original inhabitants, now lead visitors through the skills that kept them alive for millennia — fire-making with dry fig wood, honey harvesting without a single sting, and a storytelling session around coals that lasts well past the point where you planned to leave. A portion of every fee goes directly to the Batwa Development Programme.
Bark-Cloth Making at Nakatema Village
Ficus natalensis trees are stripped of their inner bark, pounded flat with grooved mallets, and sun-dried into Uganda's oldest textile — a UNESCO-recognised craft. You work a mallet yourself; the resulting sheet, imperfect and warm-toned, goes home in your bag.
Equator Ceremony & Ankole Cattle Culture
Cross the equator on foot at Kayabwe, then drive west into Ankole country where long-horned cattle graze grasslands the colour of wheat. A local herder family shares a mid-morning meal of fermented milk in a gourd — an act of trust in Ankole tradition, not offered to every visitor.
Ndere Centre Dance Performance, Kampala
The Ndere Troupe performs dances from more than thirty Ugandan peoples in one evening — Acholi warrior dances, Kiganda court drumming, Banyoro love songs — with an energy that makes the seats vibrate. Dinner is served while the musicians warm up, which is an excellent way to eat.

Day 1
Arrival in Uganda and Kampala Cultural Tour
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by an Arrive Africa Safaris representative and transferred to Kampala, Uganda's vibrant capital city. Depending on your arrival time, embark on a guided cultural tour of Kampala. Visit some of the city's most important historical and cultural landmarks, including the Uganda National Museum, which houses fascinating exhibits showcasing Uganda's cultural history, traditional artifacts, and archaeological collections.
Continue to the Uganda National Mosque, one of East Africa's largest mosques, offering panoramic views of Kampala's seven hills. Later, explore the bustling Nakasero Market, where you can interact with local traders and experience the daily life of Kampala residents. Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring local and international cuisine before retiring to your hotel.

Day 2
Buganda Kingdom Heritage Tour – Kabaka's Palace & Kasubi Tombs
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Uganda's most influential traditional kingdom—the Buganda Kingdom. Visit the historic Kabaka's Palace at Mengo, the official residence of the King of Buganda. Learn about the kingdom's fascinating history, political significance, and cultural traditions while exploring the palace grounds. Proceed to the famous Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the royal burial grounds of Buganda kings. This important cultural landmark provides valuable insight into traditional Buganda architecture, spirituality, and royal customs. Day 3
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, depart Kampala for the scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. The drive takes you through some of Uganda's most beautiful landscapes, including rolling hills, terraced farmlands, tea plantations, traditional villages, and picturesque valleys. Along the way, your guide will share stories about Uganda's history, culture, and rural way of life. Stop in Mbarara for lunch before continuing through the spectacular Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Africa" because of their breathtaking scenery. Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas and one of Africa's most biologically diverse rainforests.

Day 4
Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience
Today marks the highlight of your Uganda safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, venture deep into the rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take between 2 and 8 hours depending on the gorillas' location.
Once the gorillas are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch the silverbacks, mothers caring for their young, and playful juveniles interacting within the family group.
After returning from the trek and enjoying lunch, visit the Batwa community for a fascinating cultural experience. Learn about the traditions of these indigenous forest people, their former hunter-gatherer lifestyle, traditional medicinal practices, music, dance, and survival skills. The Batwa cultural encounter provides valuable insight into one of Uganda's most unique cultural groups.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5
Return to Kampala / Entebbe & Departure
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala and Entebbe. Enjoy scenic views of Uganda's countryside with opportunities for photography along the way. Depending on your flight schedule, you may visit local craft markets where artisans display handmade souvenirs, baskets, wood carvings, paintings, jewelry, and traditional fabrics. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase memorable gifts while supporting local communities.
Upon arrival in Entebbe, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable Uganda Cultural and Gorilla Trekking Safari.
